A Sweet Tradition

Written by Natasha Pasher | Sep 26, 2025

At Sienna, our team members are at the heart of everything we do. Every day, they serve Canadian seniors, and in doing so, they create connections that continue long after they embark on new chapters in life.

This fall, a sweet tradition is bringing residents together in a new way. At MenuFest, our annual tasting event where residents sample and vote on new dishes, one dessert quickly won hearts. Among the six chosen for the fall menu is Caramel Poke Cake - recipe created by Siegrid Renaud, former Dietary Services Director at Glenmore Lodge Care Community, now added to the menu in her honour.

A true leader, she was recognized as a CEO Spot Award recipient for her positivity, commitment, and the many ways she went above and beyond, whether guiding her team through challenges or stepping into the kitchen herself to cook full shifts. She led with kindness and care, setting an example for her team and making every resident feel at home.

Stories like Siegrid’s show that our homes are places where team members grow, where bonds are created, and where even the simplest traditions, like sharing a dessert, can leave lasting joy.

As Siegrid enjoys her well-deserved retirement, her sweet tradition will continue to bring smiles one forkful at a time.
