This fun and interactive day is all about celebrating the culinary heritage of our residents, turning their cherished family recipes into delicious creations shared with the entire community. Across Aspira communities, the kitchens are buzzing with excitement as Executive Chefs team up with residents to prepare their favourite dishes, blending tradition with a professional touch.
At Aspira Red Oak, Executive Chef James Rennick and Sous Chef Travis Allan brought one of these treasured recipes to life: Bonnie’s Chicken French. Bonnie, a resident with a love for hosting large family gatherings, shared her recipe for this delicious dish. The Chefs elevated it with a gourmet twist, adding a rich vermouth beurre blanc sauce that truly brought the dish to the next level.
But the magic of Resident Recipe Day didn’t stop there. Recipes like Bonnie’s are now being considered in a bigger way. Our Recipe Champions are testing these dishes, they will be voted on by residents, and some may soon find a permanent spot on menus across Canada as official Aspira Resident Recipes. Imagine the joy of savouring your favourite family dish while dining with friends at your Aspira community—just like home, but with a little extra flair.
